My Humble Existence
drawings & paintings
Imagine you are a toy-sized figure standing only a few inches tall. The room around you becomes a vast open frontier, ready for adventure. Anything is possible.
In this oil painting series, I attempted to explore that child-like mindset, but with the less idealized view of the real world that comes with age and life experience. These scenes express the feelings associated with both the excitement and struggles of being a grown-up.
In this warped reality, the comforts of home no longer exist as they once did. Forced to interact with their domestic surroundings in unfamiliar and dangerous ways—more or less alone—these unfortunate individuals must rely on basic instincts and cleverness to survive, however they choose to define what survival means.
